Our aim was to explore silence through diverse non-formal educational methods and reflect upon it after the personal experiences. At first, participants created connections through sharing their encounters with silence around the welcome bonfire. Group bonding was accompanied by non-verbal activities and self-directed learning was introduced through the creation process of the symbol of learning. This helped participants to get ready for “silence challenges”, individually and in a group context. They experienced silence through personal reflection, active listening, mindfulness, movement and outdoor exercises. After the experience, it was a moment to take a break and draw a conclusion from the previous days of climbing to the peak of learning.
